Participating in Seminole Service Day on Saturday, March 21, is a great way to represent Florida State University. Our project this year, to adopt North Shore Park, is coordinated through Hands On Miami. We will work alongside park staff to beautify and maintain the area for residents and visitors to walk, run, play and explore throughout the winding trails and beautiful beaches.
Tasks may include raking leaves, litter clean up in park and along the beach, mulching paths, repainting fence and removing unwanted plants/weeds from trail areas.
Volunteers should dress comfortably for outdoor landscaping work, wearing clothing that you do not mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. No Crocs, sandals, or flip-flops. Wearing a hat and sunglasses is also recommended. Bring work/gardening gloves to ensure that hands are protected.
There are 30 volunteer spots available. Sign up through link: http://www.handsonmiami.org/HOC__Volunteer_Opportunity_Details_Page?id=a0Co0000004LrUV
